Very nice!!

Gotta disagree with Pie - I think this is VERY chill stuff - very relaxing - A few unexpected jumps in the rythm kept it really fresh. - The reversed riff was well used.

The clavinova (I think) was very smooth - really nice riff too - the bass was a little flat - I'd fatten it up a bit but that's really no biggie...

This was one of the better "laid back" pieces I've heard on NG in quite a while.

You rock down in Miami - Keep tearing it up!

lol, word up my canadian brotha.
ill hold down the south, you got the north.
^_^

thx for rev/rate

Very cool

A little on the slightly darker side. the timpani's added alot to the piece. The vocal elements were great! Nice highs - good support - might have used a few pads but altogether a really solid track.

This FL ?

You did a great job on this one.

PERVOK responds:

yeah man this is FL thats all i use

Nice job!

Now if only your D&B skills were as honed as your trance...

This was a really decent track - not your best I like some of your other stuff better but this was still very solid. I could very easily hear this played in any club in the area. I know it was in there but I still can't help feeling that it needed a bridge... Your fills and rolls were good as well. Nice energetic stuff without being too overwhelming.

Good job.

Very Techno

Ya' - not really D&B - but not too far off either..

The beats are too regular for D&B - This sorta sounds like

BD-dit-tst-dit-BD-dit-tst-dit-BD-dit-tst-dit

wher D&B has more of a

Bd-dt-Tat-B-d-B-d-Bd-Tat

Sorry - I'm trying :)

Plus instead of an A-B-A-B composition (rythm) try something odd like A-B-A-C-D-E-C-B or something...

Lose some of the more trancy timbres - the highs - just set 'em aside for the moment and concentrate on more bass - think <60Hz - deep deep subs and chunk in a half-tempo bass riff that repeats every three bars.

You may also want to take one measure of a basic beat - copy it and chop it down to 12 beats - then overlay the two so you have 16 beats in one - 12 in the other and run it for 7 or 8 measures to hear how intricate that the rythm can become.

Good start though - Your Techno tracks are solid - really good stuff.

Keep it up!!!

PERVOK responds:

holy fuck YOU what you are talkin about.

what grade is yer theory man?

ill try to translate this into terms i can understand l8er with my bro

lol

Very solidly decent...

I'm not really feeling the chord progression - I think that maybe it's jumping a little too much between what - fifths and major 7ths - not sure man and don't listen to me anyway I really don't know what the hell I'm talking about BUT

Overall it feels a bit happy - The stabs are good but I would suggest adding a constant pad or two to support them a little more. The relentless hats and the thump kick are really good but I would also prefer a slightly faster or slower tempo - what was that like 120 spot on ? - kick it up to around 130 -OR- down to 100-105 and make up for the downtempo will a few really wicked fills...

Sorry man - now I'm ranting - well - that's what I think, but that's just my opinion...and I'm often wrong...

Pandora-Tranquil responds:

good review, the song itself is way better now and has way better synths, but i cant finish right now cuz im about to go to a camp... lol

Completely unfair

How the hell ??? How many people are trashing this?

I voted 5 and your score came up from 3.4? to 3.67

That really sucks that so many retards voted low...

I liked it - started out smooth - built up into a nicely layered bit of trance. Another thing I really am diggin' is that you used the half-tempo beat so the whole thing gives this very chilled out feeling even though the tempo is alot faster than it seems - until the hats 'n rolls kick in.

You don't deserve the lousy votes that you got...
That was an awesome track

Pandora-Tranquil responds:

thanks alot dude, i really appreciate your comments, thanks for listening!

Meh...

Well you DID say this was your first attempt! - Cut the intro a little - you've done some nice work later in this song but not many people will listen that far - Once you get past the double-bass intro it JUST starts to get good and then it's all over....

This could be better - it's just a metter of timing. You show potential though and I think most of your stuff is very decent overall...

Real promise...

This shows some real promise! - as soon as you can complete it I'd love to hear the final - I won't give too many suggestions at this point - I don't want you to think that I am overly critical or opinionated - I wouldn't call this ambient though - feels a little more like straight techno in spots.

If you've never heard it then you won't understand anyway but listen to a few remixes of "French Kiss" and consider using the tempo tricks that are in that arrangement... - I forget who originally recorded it...

This could be really awesome with a little more work!

Johnny-Beat responds:

thanks for the rev. and yeah, i always get genre's mixed up. O_o.

thx again

Really Nice job...

The percussion bits sounded a little too quantized - about 5 measures in or so when the drums start kicking in it feels a little - forced? hollow? - maybe?

Really nice piece though - I really did like it -

I think I got it - when you first hit the drums - you go from hats - (good) - to 16ths and triplets for a few measures then you drop them out altogether before bringing back a much more chill beat - it feels like an upset no biggie...

Great job overall!

WTF - where'd my last review go?

Oh well - guess I closed the window before clicking 'submit'

Very happy - upbeat - I can almost see the smiling little hopping flowers and the rainbow sunfish that leap out to drop little golden power-ups. Nice job putting it together - decent job on this - could easlity be used as bg music for any nintendo title - "Plastic's big Adventure" or whatever...

Good composition!

I do all of the above. I mean it. I can back it up too.
