Damn fine job... again

You're fast becoming the friggin cat's ass here (that's a good thing)

Really nice job on this - good sense of rythm - not rythm as in percussion but I mean it as in the ebb and flow of the piece itself - builds up and releases well.

You'll get the 5 from me!

PERVOK responds:

*me eats the 5*
yay ^_^

thanks for the review LJ!

Loved it

Awesome version. I heard a few minor clicks and pops here and there but that's most likely just on my end.

WAAAAAY better than the usual dance/happy midi edits.

Great job on this - you rock big balls.

Gets a 5 from me

GoreBastard responds:

Whoo Hoo! Thanks mate. Yeah, I heared a few clicks here and there too, but I though, fuck it, I'll have a beer and they might go away!

Yeah, the midi and dance edits that people do suck. F-Zero music is metal (apart from the shitty game cube version), and I will fight to keep it that way!!!

Thanks for the cool review mate!

Nice Ambient track

The transition from "scary" to "beautiful melody" (in the beginning) could have been a little slower and/or smoother - it felt a little abrubt - it would be nicer if I didn't realize that it had occurred at all but overall it was a good track.

You'll get a 5 from me to help keep the score up a bit.

Keep it up!

Nijsse responds:

You're right about the transition. I could've tried to make it more smooth, but it felt right this way. Thanks for the review!

Damn fine job on this

KB/MBM work with you on this?

Great job on it - nice intro - gives it a sort of a sitting in a padded cell feel. The percussion is very well done too - really good work on getting the lows to come through without messing with the overall levels - Cant say enough good things about it.

Definitely getting a 5 from me!

Rucklo responds:

Yea Weekc helped me out a little on thisone, he made some changes to the lead instrument, made it softer, some changes on the leverls (i changed most of them again in the final-mix tho) and added the half-bassdrum/glitch thump that goes 1/4 throughout most part of the song. Rest is my doing, instruments are created by me, useing few samples from the reason soundfactory bank.
I tried to make all instruments hearable, even when everything is playing at the same time, but i think hte key to hhat lies in the buildup, presenting one instrument at a time, kindof, makes it easy for the ears/brain to follow when new stuff is introduced in the song.
Thanx alot for the review man, and for the five :D!!!

OK - the third track of yours and I'm really starting to get a feel for what you're doing.

Definitely change up the sounds - VST's are sorely needed!

Your composition isn't bad - the melodic elements are pretty good for techno stuff - You need pads or maybe even a few samples here and there to fill out your music. What are you using by the way? FL?

Same as before - I'm doing my part to combat the zero voters by giving you a 5!

Heitoki responds:

Sorry it took me along time to respond. Ya I am using FL. Also I really dont know where to find VST's or if they are compatible with FL. If you have any help or advice you can give me... can you send to magnumhellfire@yahoo.com ?

PS- Thx for all of your reviews.

Not bad at all

My one criticism is that the intro really didn't seem like it belonged with the rest - almost like we got the tail end of a very cool song and a transistion to an etirely different song.

To be honest I liked the intro much better than the rest of the song - it sounded like it had more potential to be something new and different - after the intro fades out and the rest of the song comes in it just becomes ... well, techno ... It was good enough - It's the same as what you might hear in a techno club around here but I think you could've done something to distinguish yourself a little more from the rest of the techno composers out there.

Keep in mind though that straight techno isn't exactly my thing so take any criticism with a grain (or a pund) of salt.

Overall it was well done and I'm voting 5 on it.

Hopr to hear more from you.

dj-z3ta responds:

Thanks alot. And you are correct, I made the intro one day and then made the rest a couple days later. I did REALLY like where the intro was going, but obviously after a few days, my intentions had changed. I am thinking of doing a new song with that intro, so keep watching. Thanks again.

Not a gay intro

I'm not really seeing a problem with the intro - I can see how it wouldn't be very popular with this crowd but it's decent - militaristic drum rolls are decent - I like the timbres - very original as far as I'm concerned - and really - how many other opinions do you need?

I thought it was great - glitch it up more - mess with it a bit - put it in a blender - mash it up - re-arrange it - break it - soak it in glue and bake it under a gamma lamp and it'll be completely bad-ass.

Or leave it like it is and it's still better than most shite I hear on this site!

You get a 5!

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

cheers matey,
I would eat it back up and shit it out of my arse into aphex's mouth but i am too much of a lazy cunt...arf.

Not bad...

Great stretches. As an ambient piece it's cool as all hell - would make a damn fine background track for a flash-a-la-David Firth. Well put together - I'll give it a 5 just because.

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

Cheers again,
Got a fuckload of wicked samples by sticking stuff in a grand John Cage style,
stirred it aroud with a healthy dosage of William S. Burroughs and sent it all through a grainstates in Reaktor... Bobs your mothers brother:)

Not my favorite but still very good

Could've done without the beatboxing - it's kitchy and all but maybe a little less would've been more. I liked the rest - the sort of progressive fusion feel worked well mixed with the little breaks here and there.

Good piece all around though - you get a 5

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

yeah, prob is too much going on in places but i love the feel, probably just due to the shmoozie rhodes!D
;ped

Friggin' awesome

Great job on this - the drills were nice and choppy - great job all around. Another 5.

Man - I don't know why some of your scores are so low - either you're getting really lousy luck with the random asshole voters or these people just aren't ready for this stuff yet.

I've found that while some ppl on NG are very open to glitch and idm, most seem to vote low on anything thats not generic trance ...

You deserve higher scores - are you advertising in the audio forum? - If not then there's a topic to do so - you may get a few more votes and reviews.

So far I like most of your stuff.

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

Cheers for checkin out these tings,
yeah i agree, a lot of people just want straight drum and bass or straight house or whatever. Oh well, people will start hearing Squarepusher and BOC on BBC adverts and go all glitch and then we'll be bitching that everyones doing it so make the most of it;)
waaaaaah, ;Ped

I do all of the above. I mean it. I can back it up too.
