Glitchy Kalimba - very nice

Great stuff - nice job with the reversed bits - great little chop with an ethnic twist.

Prepping an album?

5/5

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

no album, only like u and 3 other people would wanna hear one. are YOU prepping an album, that is the question;/
;ped

Damn fine job

5/5 most definitely.

Great job all around - I loved almost everything about it - the only thing I wasn't crazy about was the timbre of the ... blocks/xylophone/mallet thing - not that is was bad - that was just the only part that I didn't absolutely love.

Percussion was fantastic - bassline was great - the sick little detuned bits were the shit

you da man!

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

no, YOU the man, i'm the boy

Love it.

Moody is a great word for it - this track is overflowing with tension - Great job on it - so far I've really liked every one of your submissions - our styles seem to overlap a bit.

Very hard to classify this track - it sounds a bit like the bastard child of an Industrial and DnB father and an Ambient and IDM mother.

Regardless of classification I think it works well.

!5/5!

StrangeEncounters responds:

Lol, That line pwns.

Excellent finish!

Very nice job - While reviewing the preview I had said that this could either end up as a really relaxed track or it could turn into something completely manic - you've managed to find a good balance leaning toward the chilled out side.

Overall a great track deserving the 5/5!

Keep this up and say hi to a few people in the forums from time to time and you'll be listed in every "favorite artist" topic in no time.

Talk to you later.

StrangeEncounters responds:

Thanks for the motivation, Thanks for the 5. It was at 4.20 but then a 0 voting cunt sucking piece of shit voted 0 and lowered it to 3.50.

Excellent Start

Sounded a little more like Boards of Canada than Squarepusher. Either way it's a great start - Can't wait to hear the final. Depending on which way you go with the percussion this could either end up as a really relaxed track or it could turn into something completely manic.

It's got great ambience though and what's there so far will blend nicely with almost anything that you add to it.

Do you work in Reason? If so, you wouldn't happen to be willing to send a workfile my way would you? I'd love to lay down some percussion on this and send it back to you.

So far I've like both of your submissions and I think that you'll become quite popular if you spend a little time posting to the audio forums. Make sure that you throw a post or two in the audio advertisements topic -

5/5

StrangeEncounters responds:

Thanks for the review! Ill send you the file as soon as possible. You could submit the remix on your audio page if youd like. That would be awesome!

Anyways, Ill post in there tommorow.
Thanks for all this support.

Nice job!

I hate scoring - I never really know how to mark things.

Really good stuff here though - good job with the percussive elements and it's got a dark manic feel to it - you get a 5/5 from me.

I probably should have voted 4 though - I'm sorry but you just know that because I voted 5 it'll go to the top of the pages and at least one asshole will zero it just because... A 4 would attract less attention from the pickaxers.

Keep it up - I'm looking forward to hearing more of your work.

StrangeEncounters responds:

Hey man,
I feel motivated when I get reviewed from someone like you. I hate the review score system too. Nothing makes sense. Lol
I dont really pay attention to 0 voters.
They're fags anyways.

Branching out I see??

Acid 4 ??? upgrade man upgrade!!! :D

Damn good sequencing - this is the type of stuff they love on micromusic - I see you have an account there - did that influence your decision to stray from the Metal?

Good job on it. I think that something like this would make a great intro to a very hardcore chunk of metal - open with the 8-bit stuff - establish the melodies - add a little harmony and a few bars later hit really fucking hard with the drums and guitar for a bit - then drop the drums back down to a minimum while the chips and guitar play complimentary together - you get the idea - that would be pretty damn cool... Give it a try!

You get a 5

jarrydn responds:

Acid 4 is all I need :D

As far as my switch goes...I've been a fan of 8-bit, lo-fi crunchy goodness for years. I love the music, the methods used to compose the music, and generally the whole subculture associated with it.

Metal (or at least my solo 'project') will be on the backburner for an indefinite period of time. I need to write material for the bands that I'm in, and that kind of saps me of my creative energy :P. So yeah, let's see how I go with chiptunes :D

A metal/chiptune mashup would be interesting to say the least. Definitely something I'm going to have to try out :)

Thankyou for the 5 sir :D

As you were pirate.

Good stuff

Nice work - you're just kicking ass and taking anmes aren't you?

You get all 9's so that way I have somewhere to go to when you get the thing completely finished.

You'll get teh 5 too!

I'd love to hear the final - if it's too big for NG then please email it to me! please!

I've never been a huge trance fan in general but you seem to have developed a style and sound of your own and I think that it works really well.

I love that you don't stick to those sickly sweet happy little major chord progressions - I really dig the tnsion in this piece.

You keep this up and you'll be swimming in women (if you aren't already) You can get a pile of raver chicks together and put 'em all in a cuddle puddle to sleep on at night. you lucky little bastard!!!

GET SIGNED ALREADY - make some money - be famous - get the cars, the estate, the jet, and everything that goes with it. Don't be afraid to sell a little of your soul and grab for that brass ring man - you've got an immense amount of talent and it will take you places if you let it!

Just remember to say hi once you get there!

talk to you later

PERVOK responds:

Psh, if I get up there, I'm totally going to take you up there with me :D

Oh, and with that song, I'm going to host it on a site, then post it in the advertisements thread. So you all can enoy the all 12 minutes of it :D

Thanks for the review!

Not really my thing, but....

This isn't my favorite style of music but I do think that it was very well done.

Excellent work - you're very talented. This would make great vespa cruising music :D

I see that you have music in many genres - I love that you are capable of producing different styles. Many people here stick to only one type of music and seem to be afraid to experiment a little.

I'll listen to and review more of your stuff when I have more time.

this get's a 5

No1r responds:

And i'll not never say enough how you, reviewers, make me pleasured with your comments :) Really thank you for your kind words. I like experiment also because i listen to a lot of genres. My love for music is nearly 360 :)

Very well done

Clean production - very well put together!

The swing beat gave it a very unusual feel - good though.

5/5

No1r responds:

Yup, swing beat has something -magical- for me..and i love to put it together with other stuff as pads, choirs and electronic sounds..:)
Thanks for your review and vote! (0 voters you suck!)

I do all of the above. I mean it. I can back it up too.
