Lots of possibilities

I though you did a great job on this - something about it sounds a bit Lo-Fi.

Would make a great tune for a game menu or intro.

I'm voting 4 on this

- why not 5 you ask? OK.. here goes -
in a word : timbres

Re-assign your drums - use a few nontraditional sounds - the bass and melody were fine but they sounded a little like presets - they were missing something - maybe a few basic effects - a tiny bit of reverb goes a long way - that's about it

Syntrus responds:

sry about the drum reverb its just that my early work was always judged kinda harshly and i got scared to use Reverbed anything!

Aaargh... Techno :D

I hate reviewing techno - I always have such a hard time with it for some reason.

To be honest, I don't listen to a lot of techno and I never really know how to rate it.

This wasn't bad at all though - it did exactly what techno should do - it was well put together.

The snare was just a little harsh compared to the rest but that's alright - now worries there.

I do like squares and saws though so you get extra for the melodic timbre.

I'm giving straight 9's and I'm voting 5 - on this one (as well) I was thinking 4 but the score is so damned low - it definitely deserves a better score than a 2.00 - so you get a 5 to raise it up a bit.

Syntrus responds:

Thx man much apreaciated iam getting blamified

Tell Tawney

You two should get together again and do a little trip-hop thing.

This was a little more upbeat and just a hair more ... hip-hop? maybe?

Overall I liked it but The instruments did sort of sound like you were looking for something to add - maybe you rushed it a bit.

I would have voted about 4/5 on this but the score is so low right now - some bastard probably zeroed it.. (or several bastards for that matter) so I'm voting 5 to try to increase the score as much as I can.

Not too bad for what it was -

Syntrus responds:

Yah man i got a recent blammerama i'd honestly say its about a 4/5

Nice nice nice

OK - let's see... why the nines?

For Clarity, there seemed to be just a hair of clipping/distortion when the ... shakuhachi? hit. - Maybe it's the highs of that sample combined with the reverb on top of the rest of the music, not sure. Effort lost a point - you should think about chopping up the beats a bit more - It's alright to use bank loops but you should toy around with the rex files a bit. Unless that wasn't a .rex in which case I apologize. - I know a few easy tricks to mix it up a bit - we'll talk more about that via email or PM though.

Overall it's about a 9. I think that the overall score dropped a bit because of the key... I know that it's so subjective but generally I like tracks with more dissonance. I might be a big trance fan if it weren't for all of the happy sugar-pop major keys. This piece had a very upbeat and happy feel to it which sort of makes me uncomfortable I suppose. Like I said - it's all so subjective...

I'm still voting 5 on it because you did a great job on it and it's WWAAAAYYY better than most tracks that are submitted here.

9??!! WTF!

Very filthy piece - the first half is just dripping with grime - great ambience. Nice chops on the sax in the later part of this track.

You should go back and jump headfirst into the tedium of mixing up the percussion.
That's where the 9 for effort came from.

You still get a 5 though - I hope it won't attract too much attention from the zero-voting cockmunchers.

cheers

Excellent work!

Very nice job on this

The NASA radio chatter samples were perfect (at least I think that's what they were) - although it would still kick ass even without them.

Great job all around - the pads were just so sick and quirky which I absolutely love - very very good stuff.

Nice percussive timbres.

Quite the ChillCore piece (hah - ChillCore - kind of an Oxymoron huh?)

This is a great track that you should be proud of!

5/5

StrangeEncounters responds:

Lol, I am proud. Meh, the intro would of sucked without the Nasa shit. Anyways. Thanks for the review.

You fucker!

Fucking catchy ass track!

The first time I listened to this I wrote a review - (I have no idea what happened to it! I must have shut down that window) anyways, I had mentioned that the only problem I had with it was the levels on the lyrics - Anyways - I downlaoded this and I've listened to it several times since then - This is an awesome track - if you could bring up the volume just a half a hair on the main vocals this would be the dogs bollocks!

Fantastic song - great beat to it - the music is outstanding - I really dig the vocals - they're a little knackered but I think that lends a certain charm to them that I just love.

I wish this style would catch on and take hold -

fantastic work on what is currently at the top of my fovarite NG tracks list.

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

there are bunch more sitting on my HD with
russ on vox, some great stuff lurking, shame all the vocals sound rough, my production skills lick balls more than you lick balls.

chilled like freezer pops

very very nice job - has a sort of trip-hoppy feel to it.

quirky and odd and that's why I love it.

!5/5!

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

tanks, tanks, i would have given it 8 for clarity and 7 for originality but there you go

Great loop

Nice job on this loop - no complaints from me! 5/5

Decent track

This is not really my style so it's very hard to review but overall it's a decent track. This track seemed a bit on the minimalist side - there wasn't much to it and it was repetitive but still a good track either way. I haven't voted on this piece yet and I'll most likely give it a day or two before I do but you'll get either a 4 or more likely a 5 from me - that's just how I am...

I like your DnB work much better!

MinistryofTunes responds:

No problem i experiment with all music genres i dont stick to 1 genre so i can put good things out music genres to put them into 1

I do all of the above. I mean it. I can back it up too.
